Utensils: Large skillet
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1-1/4 cups water
- 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced olives
Brown ground beef, onion, and garlic in large skillet. Drain well. Add bell pepper, pasta, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, oregano, cinnamon, salt and pepper; stir to combine, making sure pasta is covered by liquid. Heat to boiling, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer 11-13 minutes, stirring frequently, until orzo is tender. Remove from heat, sprinkle cheese and olives over casserole. Cover and let stand 2-4 minutes until cheese is melted. 5 servings
